"19th Annual NBA Hall Of Fame Gala"
Updated: Oct 4, 2021
This was well worth the trip for RTM!
The 2014 "The trip to Las Vegas turned out very well. After arriving at the Las Vegas Airport, we went directly to the Four Seasons Hotel and settled in for a short rest before the event.
Six o’clock came quickly and we headed down to the Four Seasons Ballroom to " & "Nevada’s Sesquicentennial Celebration"…
OUCH!!! This took a long time to get to!
But, here we go!
The trip to Las Vegas turned out very well. After arriving at the Las Vegas Airport, we went directly to the Four Seasons Hotel and settled in for a short rest before the event.
Six o’clock came quickly and we headed down to the Four Seasons Ballroom to mingle at the pre-show meet and greet. We met Robin Leach and Kerri Kasem (Casey Kasem’s daughter), as well as some of Nevada’s Shakers and Movers in Broadcasting.
Selfies would’ve been very uncouth!
Everyone present, including ourselves, in proper attire. The modelesque women in elegant gowns.
WOW! The place seemed as if we were at the Oscars.
After schmoozing for a while, we were able to catch up with and meet Gary Campbell from the Nevada Broadcasters Association.
What a GREAT guy! Truly!
Although Gary was busy during the event, he took the time to talk with us throughout the evening. He showed us around and introduced us to some more folks. And then, we finally got the additional pleasure to meet and engage in a most interesting conversation with Nevada Broadcasters Association President and CEO, Robert D. Fisher.
Another wonderful individual.
The Gala commenced and speakers were plentiful!
Nevada Congressman; Steven Horsford, Nevada Governor; Brian Sandoval, Robin Leach, Kerri Kasem, and a slew of others. Dinner was served and was surprisingly delicious! The NBA didn’t hold back one iota and was intent on making this an no holds barred “A-1” Premier Event! A Silent Auction was in progress throughout the evening and ended after dinner. We did not participate in the auction!
The evening came to a close and we sat and chewed the fat a bit more with both, Gary and Bob. Then, we called it a night! But, only to change out of the evening’s garb and head to the casinos. Lost a few and won a few. All in all, we both broke even.
Around 03:30 a.m., we headed into town for something to eat. Eating this late was not a very good idea.
None the less, we got up around 08:30 a.m. and got ready to check out by 11:00 a.m. We left our suit bags at the concierge to hold until time to head to the airport and went to meet our Friend and RTM Voice Talent, Jesus Ponce. What a Great Person, a very Funny and Entertaining Guy as well.
We ended up meeting so many wonderfully pleasant people on this outing. Not pleasant because of the first meeting but, truly and sincerely good people. You could see it in their eyes and body language. I can tell an act when in play and these people are no act. They’re real!
Thanks again to both; Gary and Bob.
We really enjoyed ourselves. Next time we’ll be certain to extend our stay by a couple of days.
I’ll make arrangements to attend next year’s;
2015 "20th Annual Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall Of Fame Gala"!
Count on us being there!
